After a competitive selection process, the six recipients of the Taiwan Scholarship this year are: Ms. Joreeny Harley Allen, Ms. Lorna Daisey Airam, Ms. Yoko Bobo, Mr. Damiee Riklon, Ms. Samantha Leon and Mr. Darson Anjel. This scholarship provides each recipient with roundtrip airfare to Taiwan and a monthly stipend of NT$30,000 (currently approx. US $970).

Since 2004, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has provided the Taiwan Scholarship to encourage outstanding international students, including students from the RMI to undertake degree programs in Taiwan. This Scholarship provides opportunities to study in a wide range of disciplines at Taiwan¡¦s best universities and colleges, including undergraduate or postgraduate programs as well as the pre-degree Mandarin Chinese Language Enrichment Program. It also aims to promote knowledge, understanding and friendship between the peoples of the ROC (Taiwan) and the RMI to jointly explore opportunities to increase academic and educational links.
